According to reports in the UK Telegraph, a notorious Nigerian born criminal who goes by the name General Giwa, has been arrested for violent robbery in London.
The gangster whose real name is Joland Giwa but known by all as General Giwa, is said to have been terrorising the Wales and South London for many years and few years back, was given a new life in Wales because the government cannot deport him to Nigeria but has struck again by carrying out a violent armed robbery.
"Giwa, 26, arrived in the UK when he was aged 10 and grew up terrorising the streets of Croydon, south London, with his gang called ‘Don’t Say Nothing’ or ‘DSN’ for short.
However, the father-of-two was jailed for 27 months in February 2009 for a string of robberies and thefts and ended up in a bail hostel in Newport, South Wales after serving his time.
However, despite starting a new life and vowing to make a new start, Giwa has appeared in court charged with a violent armed robbery at a bookmakers.
The criminal, who calls himself ‘The General’, admitted one count of robbery at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday for the raid on a William Hill betting shop in Ringland, Newport, in November last year."
The court heard how Giwa covered his face with a red bandanna and jumped over the counter of the bookmakers before pushing over the cashier and making off with £600 from the till. He will be sentenced at a later date but the Home Office is still pushing to get him deported.
